Principal

Michael serves as Principal at I. Dachs and Sons, a family operated insurance brokerage located in Hewlett, New York. At I. Dachs and Sons, he plays a significant role in the management of the firm while remaining the key point of contact for his clients, many of whom are located across the country. He also oversees the management of their accounts and the renewals to follow.

In addition to his expertise in real estate, which includes multi-family, commercial, and industrial, Michael provides cost-effective risk management solutions and innovative insurance products to clients in a variety of segments and industries. Beginning with their initial meeting, he helps clients understand their risks and challenges before creating a custom insurance program to meet their specific needs.

Michael attended Yeshiva University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. He volunteers much of his time, holding leadership positions in several communal institutions. Michael has served as an officer at the Young Israel of Woodmere (a Synagogue with over 1000 member families) since 2019, currently serving as Vice President. He also serves as Chairman of the Parent Council of the Hebrew Academy of Long Beach, a local private school serving approximately 1000 students from Nursery through 8th grade.

An avid cyclist, Michael has completed a number of 100+ mile rides, including twice traversing Long Island from the Queens line to Montauk Point. His greatest pleasure, however, is participating in charity rides that empower individuals and raise funds for important causes.

Jacob Dachs

Executive Vice President

As Executive Vice President at I. Dachs & Sons, Jacob Dachs provides unique and cost-effective risk management solutions to clients across all segments and industries, often acting as an extension of his clients’ executive teams. His proactive, hands-on approach to risk management issues allows him to assist in strategic business decisions that impact a company’s operations.

Jacob's skills allow him to provide a comprehensive range of innovative insurance products to clientele across the country. Prior to joining I. Dachs & Sons, he served as a producer at American Business.

Jacob possesses CLCS and PLCS designations and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Finance from New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business, where he was named a University Honors Scholar and awarded the NYU Founders’ Day Award.

Steven Schindler

Chief Operating Officer

Steven Schindler is an accomplished Chief Operating Officer with a proven record of building, scaling, and optimizing insurance agencies. At I. Dachs & Sons, he leads day-to-day operations, directs human resources, oversees account marketing, and manages carrier relations.

Since joining the firm in 2022, Steven has secured partnerships with many new carriers, broadening market reach while fostering a high-performance culture that has driven growth and minimized voluntary attrition.

A graduate of Brooklyn College with a Bachelor of Science in Business, Management, and Marketing, Steven launched his career in 1995 as a Senior Business Analyst. He went on to hold leadership and officer roles in the insurance industry, honing his expertise in profitability, operational efficiency, and client service.

Throughout his career, Steven has distinguished himself by forging strong carrier and wholesaler relationships, introducing innovative products and processes, and developing high-performing teams. His leadership style blends strategic vision with a results-driven focus and commitment to continuous improvement.

Away from the office, Steven enjoys karaoke and traveling, pursuits that reflect his energy, creativity, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
